DETAILED INFORMATION

Combining the best of Hollywood, Chinese and Japanese cinema and being billed as "a relationship‐charged, action‐packed, mecha fest" Future Fighters is a new English-language, US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action science fiction movie to “put the science back into science fiction” which features a band of freedom fighters and their mechanized warriors in the 22nd Century defending the solar system from a formidable enemy. Green-screen shooting is expected to begin in Mainland China from early 2011 and the producers are currently seeking suitable distribution partners for a global 3D theatrical release around late 2011/early 2012.

32-year-old Guy Orlebar describes how the cast and crew came about: “We have a fantastic mix of industry veterans and young talent coming together for Future Fighters. For example, I wanted, and have fortunately been able, to reach out to those certain artists, such as Nelson Shin, or Simon Furman, whose work I’ve particularly admired and followed over the past twenty-something years, to be able to create something special, something different. And the support all these talented individuals and organizations have shown for this project and their willingness to be involved is phenomenal.

“We’re now currently thrashing out the finer details of our movie’s US$10 million budget breakdown before presenting it to investors. The great news is, with the involvement of one of our previously announced China partners, Crystal CG, it is strongly likely our movie can be shown theatrically in China as a local domestic movie, effectively ensuing investors will see their return and making this virtually a risk-free investment, with considerable upside in all other markets. For example, our novelist Alan [Dean] Foster [of “Alien” trilogy, “Star Trek”, “Star Wars”, “Terminator Salvation”, “Transformers 1&2” fame] is kindly helping to promote Future Fighters at this week’s Comic Con, so we’re hoping to see significant interest from studio reps here, as well as from various other investors in Asia”.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Nelson Shin, whose original theatrically released animated 1986 “The Transformers The Movie” feature film is still held in the highest esteem by many in the Transformer fan community and included the voice talents of Leonard Nimoy (“Star Trek”), Eric Idle (“Monty Python”) and the final performance of film great Orson Welles (“Citizen Kane”), is also responsible for the original Star Wars lightsaber special effect, as well as, through his Seoul-based Akom Productions company, every series of “The Simpsons” and many other hit US cartoon shows. Future Fighters represents his first live action project, as well as his many fans’ long-awaited and highly anticipated directorial return of over twenty years to Western theatrical cinema. Nelson says: “Guy first reached out to me in the middle of last year, and then again earlier this year. After meeting me in Seoul last month and explaining in depth to me about his project, I could feel my heart pounding with excitement again, like it used to when I worked on the original Transformers show. With today’s technology, there’s so much more that can be done with the giant robot genre, that we simply couldn’t do twenty years back then. So once again we look forward to bringing to you something ‘beyond your wildest imagination’.”

Ken Siu, also known as Kenneth Siao Wai Keung 蕭偉強, is both assistant director to movies like Jet Li’s “Fearless”, and “The Forbidden Kingdom”, as well as a distinguished director in his own right. Future Fighters co-producer and casting director Mike Leeder comments: “With animation director Nelson Shin onboard, our goal of creating a fantastic live-action anime is assured. And by bringing Ken, who I’ve known for a long while, to the project, we can complement Nelson’s extraordinary technical and visual and detailed approach with Ken’s many years of hands-on experience of directing real actors in big productions. It should be the perfect combination.”

Weta Workshop is the multi-Oscar-winning one-stop design and manufacturing workshop servicing the world's creative industries behind such major blockbuster hits as "Avatar", "District 9", "The Chronicles of Narnia", "King Kong", "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy as well as the forthcoming Steven Spielberg/Peter Jackson "Tintin" collaboration. Weta Workshop co-founder and creative director Richard Taylor says: “We really appreciate the producers of Future Fighters reaching out to us directly when I was in Hong Kong last March. It's an exciting project and ensemble of people that Guy [Orlebar] has put together and, schedules permitting, we certainly would love to be involved. We very much hope that Weta Workshop can be complementary to this ambitious project.” Future Fighters co-producer and line producer Ricky Wong adds: "Weta Workshop is top in its field in everything it does, be it concept or production design, armor, weapons, makeup effects, miniatures, vehicles, you name it. So these area would all be opportunities for us to have Weta Workshop make a really difference to our project and help our story’s future universe come alive. Naturally, we very much look forward to getting this project greenlit shortly and collaborating with Weta Workshop fully in due course.”

Japanese actress Rina Takeda 武田 梨奈 , currently aged 19, holds a black belt in karate which she began learning when only 10 after witnessing her father's defeat in a tournament and vowing revenge. Her Japanese career was launched with the lead role in last year’s “Highkick Girl”, where she is represented by Sony Music Artists, and Future Fighters provides an ideal opportunity to showcase her acting and fighting prowess to international action fans, playing an important character who provides the answers to many of the other characters’ questions within the movie. Rina explains her interest in this project: “Y’know, martial arts runs deep in my family, so naturally I’m a big fan of Hong Kong kung fu and other action movies. Having the opportunity to act alongside my action heroes like [Yasuaki] Kurata-sensei, [Gordon] Liu-sensei and Ray Park is awesome… a real honor.”

Briton Simon Furman is one of the longest running and most prolific Transformers comic writers of all time, beginning with writing stories for the UK Transformers comic before also taking over the US Transformers comic run in the mid-eighties, and now one of the major writers for IDW Publishing’s chart-topping line of Transformers comics. Outside Transformers, his work includes writing for licenses “Doctor Who”, “Judge Dredd”, “Robocop”, “Terminator 2”, and “Thundercats”. Simon adds: “In past interviews I’ve described Nelson Shin’s original Transformers movie as ‘fantastic’, so would I be very interested in working on the graphic novel adaptation of his Future Fighters? You betcha!”

Italy-based illustrator Guido Guidi was announced as the movie’s concept and production designer at last year’s Comic Con where he said “Like [producer] Guy, I'm a big fan of the aesthetics from the good old Japanese anime mecha series of the '80s. Future Fighters gives us the chance to take those fantastic, sleek retro designs, which we all loved and grew up with, and really bring them alive… in fantastic 3D live-action." With respect to the graphic novel, Guy adds “Given it’s Guido’s amazing designs that all our mecha are based on, it just seemed to make totally sense to ask him to handle the graphic novel artwork as well. No-one lives and breathes these robotic designs as well as he does.”

DETAILED INFORMATION

As a self-described Jackie Chan and Jet Li fan whose movies inspired him to become an actor initially, Future Fighters offers the man behind the masks of such iconic characters as Darth Maul in “Star Wars: Episode I” and Snake Eyes in last year’s “G.I. Joe”, RAY PARK, the opportunity to return to his Asian martial arts roots to act and perform under the fight choreography instructions of Jet Li favorite, action director DEE DEE KU 谷軒昭 (“Matrix 2&3”, “Kill Bill 1&2”, “The Mummy 3”, “Forbidden Kingdom”, “Kungfu Hustle”, “Fearless”, “Warlords”). A popular award-winning actress and model within Japan, Future Fighters provides ERIKO SATO with further international exposure following her praised performance by the international anime community as the titular lead action heroine in Hideaki Anno’s 2004 live-action adaption “Cutie Honey”. Twenty-four year-old actress/model/athlete LISA CHENG (also known as LISA SA) has already achieved major championship successes in competitive climbing, bodybuilding and gymnastics at both national and international levels, and is now launching her film career with a number of projects in China, and, through Future Fighters, the world. YASUAKI KURATA, longtime proponent for Asian action films who is widely known for his sparring with Jet Li in “Fist of Legend”, and who most recently appeared in the live-action adaptation of the anime “Blood: The Last Vampire” and Jackie Chan’s “Shinjuku Incident”, looks to Future Fighters to further promote Japanese and Asian cinema and themes to the Western audience.

Co-producer BILLIE CHAN describes their choice of cast: “Heralding originally from his legendary stunt team, Dee Dee [Ku] is widely considered within the industry as Yuen Wo Ping’s protégé. With someone of that top caliber and Hollywood experience as our Action Director, we absolutely need actors who can really step up and deliver not just emotional but also the most physical performances of their careers. So we’ve been tremendously lucky to receive the support of these talented and, within their respective markets, high-profile individuals.” Fellow co-producer and casting director, MIKE LEEDER (“Fearless”, “The Mummy 3”, “Rush Hour 3”) elucidates further: “Last September we announced Lisa [Cheng]’s involvement as a supporting actress, but once immensely-talented Ray [Park] with his reputation for taking his characters to their physical limit came on board, we couldn’t think of any other actress who could better play his character’s female equal in this movie.” Fellow co-producer and co-writer GUY ORLEBAR concludes: “On the Japan side, both Eriko-san and [her management company] Yellow Cab have been extremely supportive of this project ever since we first reached out to them in Tokyo last Fall… as has Kurata-sensei who we approached in the Spring… so I’m very proud to welcome these two versatile actors officially… in roles which will be anything but conventional.“

And who will be the director? “I can’t really give too much away at present, since talks are still ongoing, but we’re expecting to announce our director in time for July’s San Diego Comic-Con. I think giant robot fans are going to be amazed and ecstatic at who we have in mind– it’s someone whose next theatrical release the West has waited quite considerably and patiently for, and, I believe, who can help us make up for certain of Hollywood’s recent unpopular giant robot indiscretions.” hints GUY ORLEBAR cryptically.

In addition to its contribution on the production side, Crystal CG has also pledged several million US dollars equity investment in this project, the precise amount to be finalized within the next few weeks, but which is expected to be between 10% and 30% of the entire movie's US$10 million budget. Paul Rapovski says: "In his interview with Charlie Rose during the release of Avatar, James Cameron acknowledged how ‘the next stage for Hollywood is getting the cost down to get these 3D tools in the hands of other filmmakers.’ We’ve positioned ourselves to be a major part of this.”

Hollywood Motion Capture Technology Comes To Asia In New 3D Live-Action Sci-Fi Flick
11 Dec 2009 (PDF)

LOS ANGELES – 11 December 2009 – Just Cause Productions Inc, the Los Angeles/Tokyo-based motion-capture company behind such video game mega-hits as DEVIL MAY CRY and RESIDENT EVIL, yesterday announced its involvement in the new US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live‐action sci‐fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS, which is being described as “a relationship‐charged, action‐packed, mecha fest” and is expected to be released globally late 2011. Utilizing similar motion capture technology to that being touted by movie greats Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson in their forthcoming TINTIN movie feature, this will mark the first time that such technology has been used so extensively on an Asian live-action film project.

Just Cause (http://www.for-the-cause.com) is an international and multi-lingual, multimedia production house with connections to Hollywood, Japan and Hong Kong. Its Los Angeles office can be contacted via telephone on +1 (310) 439 9721 or by email at info@for-the-cause.com. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong‐based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.AgogFilms.com).

Agog Films Productions CEO and Future Fighters Producer, Guy Orlebar, explains the benefits of bringing Just Cause to this project: "Having Just Cause onboard is fantastic. With their state-of-the-art technology and expertise what we're able to do is, within their own computer hard-drives, essentially shoot, edit and lock the entire Future Fighters movie before we even begin any actual filming at the production stage. If there's anything we don't like or think could be done better, we ‘shoot’ and edit it again. Only when we're 100% happy with how the final movie is going to look do we even begin to start shooting with the real actors. This also allows our composer Rob [Ellis-Geiger] to start composing even before production begins, rather than at the very end of post-production like on so many movie projects. The cost and time savings are enormous."

President Reuben Langdon, whose own credits include AVATAR, SPIDERMAN 2, and PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN 3, describes his firm’s new approach to filmmaking: "This is more than just your typical pre-viz [pre-visualization] which many Hollywood studios use. Here, pretty much all our angles and motion paths we use in the pre-viz will be precisely the same as what we use in post-production for the movie itself. The recent trend in Hollywood has been to shift much of the post-production work into production; so we're taking that one step further and doing most of the post-production in pre-production." When asked why his company selected the project FUTURE FIGHTERS, Langdon responds: "We like to create scenes which are cool. Future Fighters is providing us ample opportunity for that."

Novelist Heavyweight Agrees To Adaptation of New 3D Sci-Fi Feature
07 Oct 2009 (PDF)

Hong Kong - 7 October 2009 – Yesterday, acclaimed and best-selling science-fiction novelist, Alan Dean Foster, confirmed his involvement with the official movie-adaptation novel for the new US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live‐action sci‐fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be shot in Hong Kong during summer 2010 and released worldwide the following year. Being billed as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha fest", sci-fi fans will want to look out for both the movie itself and Foster’s accompanying novelization when each are released to the world in 2011.

Multi-award winning, New York Times best-selling author Alan Dean Foster can be contacted at adf@alandeanfoster.com. His official website is at http://www.AlanDeanFoster.com. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong-based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.agogfilms.com).

Having written over one hundred novels spanning both the sci-fi and fantasy genres, including both major sci-fi movie novelizations and his own original works, Foster is perhaps most widely known for his work on Hollywood blockbuster movie franchises such as Alien, Star Trek, Star Wars, Terminator and Transformers. Regarding his attraction to FUTURE FIGHTERS, Foster explains "This production looks a lot of fun, with the producers actually having a grasp of solar system astronomy... something which we don't see too often coming out of Hollywood. That, and seeing an SF film that deals with Western, Chinese and Japanese culture and ideology many years in our future... well, it's about time!" Producer Orlebar adds “As a huge fan of his works ever since I was a kid, it’s a real honor welcoming Mr Foster to this project. Announcing his joining as a crucial part of our core filmmaking team reaffirms once again our commitment to finding only the very finest and most suited professionals from around the world to deliver the best movie we can and make something truly fantastic.”

Amongst his own original works, Alan Dean Foster’s “Commonwealth” series has been running for over thirty-seven years. Outside writing, Foster is a keen explorer, having travelled extensively to many far-away and exotic parts of the globe, with filmed footage from these travels appearing on both American television and the BBC.

Hong Kong Pioneers Push Possibilities of 3D for New US$10M Live-Action Feature
24 Sep 2009 (PDF)

Hong Kong - 24 September 2009 - Today a team of award-winning Hong Kong filmmakers, comprising of upcoming movie director Guy Orlebar and prominent cinematographer Henry Chung, with one of Hong Kong television’s most popular actresses, Miss Coffee Lam, descended onto Shing Fung Studios in Hong Kong’s Sai Kung area, for a full-day green-screen shoot for the new 3D teaser trailer to promote the forthcoming US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS (http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com) which is currently seeking investment. With the movie being billed as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha feast", sci-fi and anime fans will get a first, 3D glimpse at this exciting universe set one hundred and fifty years into the future when the teaser trailer is released on 4th November 2009.

Hong Kong's Golden Bauhinia Award winner, cinematographer Henry Chung can be contacted at magicmtp@netvigator.com or (852) 92336788. His official homepage is at http://www.stereoscopy.com/henry/. Hawaii’s Gold Kahuna Award winner, director/ producer Guy Orlebar can be contacted through his production company Agog Films Productions (http://www.agogfilms.com), which is co-producing Future Fighters, at either info@agogfilms.com or (852) 94186674. Hong Kong model/actress Miss Coffee Lam can be reached through her official homepage at http://coffeelam.com or Hong Kong television TVB’s official blog at http://blog.tvb.com/coffeelam/.

For the shoot, Chung brought his custom 3D rig with its pair of industry-leading, super-high-resolution RED ONE cameras, and team of professionals. “What’s interesting with this shoot”, Chung explains, “is that [director] Guy is combining true stereoscopic 3D with a little-used alternate 3D technique called the Pulfrich effect. To my knowledge this is the first time these two techniques have been combined.” Orlebar adds “This is a technology I first learned of in 1993 and allows us to bring full color 3D footage to anyone who watches the teaser on a regular TV or computer monitor. But of course it’ll look best in stereoscopic 3D on the big screen!” Asked about the difficulties of shooting on green-screen and in 3D, Miss Lam, who frequently tops Hong Kong’s number one television station’s website as its most popular female, explains, "It's hard work. Especially under the lights. For 3D, I need 90,000 watts of lighting on me- much more than usual! But it's definitely exciting. I can't wait to see the actual Phoenix Fighter robot I'm supposed to be piloting in the finished trailer! "

Guy Orlebar and Miss Lam will be promoting the movie to investors at Japan's largest film market, TIFFCOM (http://www.tiffcom.jp), held in Tokyo from 20th October, before Orlebar takes the finished trailer to America to showcase to investors at the world's largest independent film market, the American Film Market (http://www.ifta-online.org/afm/) in Los Angeles starting 4th November.

Having Lisa's involvement is really exciting." Ms Sa adds "Throughout my career I've been fighting against convention in an effort to prove to people that we can follow our dreams, whatever those dreams are. Prominent Cinematographer Brings 3D Expertise to New US$10M Live-Action Feature

Hong Kong - 14 August 2009 - Award-winning cinematographer, Hong Kong-based Henry Chung this week signed on as Director of Photography to brings his unrivaled knowledge of 3D technology and filming techniques to the new, US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be shot in Hong Kong during summer 2010 and released worldwide the following year. Being billed as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha feast", FUTURE FIGHTERS will be one of the pioneering live-action movies from the China/Hong Kong film industry to be shot entirely in 3D, and is therefore something movie-goers will want to look out for when it hits 3D cinema screens around the world in 2011.

Both a professional and award-winning cinematographer and cameraman, Henry Chung can be contacted at magicmtp@netvigator.com or (852) 92336788. His official homepage is at http://www.stereoscopy.com/henry/. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong-based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.agogfilms.com).

Introduced to the movie producers by Casting Director, Screen Ops' Mike Leeder, Chung explains: "When [producer] Guy [Orlebar] approached me and described the concept of FUTURE FIGHTERS to me, the idea of looking 150 years into humanity's future was very appealing. Not only does it give us an opportunity to really play around with ideas of what aerial warfare technology in the future might be like, but as both an avid fan of fighter jets and high-tech military weaponry, as well as a longtime proponent and enthusiast of 3D technology, being able to combine these two loves, makes FUTURE FIGHTERS like a dream project for me. I was hooked." Producer Guy Orlebar adds: "We're very fortunate to be able to welcome Henry onboard. We were looking for a very technical cinematographer who could understand the vision of the movie's creators and be able to fully realize that vision using the full and latest advances in cinematic special effects. Bringing Henry on board is crucial to that end. It's a real coup."

Beginning his career first in photography, then in the mid-eighties as a cameraman in Hong Kong cinema, Henry Chung has been a distinguished cinematographer for over fifteen years, winning numerous awards including Hong Kong's Golden Bauhinia Award for Best Cinematography and Festival du Film Asiatique de Deauville's Lotus Award for Best Cinematography, for his work on 2001's critically acclaimed art-house movie "Peony Pavilion". His numerous publications and exhibitions in the realm of 3D photography and filmography all attest to his deep expertise of 3D technologies.

Hong Kong Movie Matchmaker Brings Hollywood Touch to New Sci-Fi Fighting Epic
12 Aug 2009 (PDF)

Hong Kong - 12 August 2009 - Hong Kong-based Briton Mike Leeder, a major production crew member of many Hong Kong films as well as a key player in bringing top Hollywood films to shoot in Asia, signs up today as Casting Director for the new US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be shot in Hong Kong during summer 2010 and released worldwide the following year. Being billed as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha feast" and expected to feature literally-out-of-this-world, stylized-choreographic fight sequences from some of the top names in the industry, this is one movie all action fans will wish to see when it hits 3D cinema screens around the world in 2011.

Mike Leeder is a partner in the international film productions company SCREEN Ops (http://www.ScreenOps.com), and can be contacted at bigmike@screenops.com or (+852) 2104 2600. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong-based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.AgogFilms.com).

Describing his involvement in the FUTURE FIGHTERS project Leeder explains: "I met [producer] Guy a couple of years back at Hong Kong's Filmart and was considerably impressed by his award-winning directorial debut LOST IN LOVE which he shot on a shoe-string budget and will come out on DVD later this year. Plenty of people talk about making a film, but of those few indie projects which are ever begun, even fewer are actually completed. And Guy did both. In his spare time. Now, given his full-time capacity as producer of FUTURE FIGHTERS, all initial indications are that this movie is going to be something big. And I'm excited to be a part of that." Producer Guy Orlebar adds "This project is meant to be an amalgam of Chinese, Western, and Japanese cultures. To do this whilst ensuring our movie remains globally appealing means that choosing the right cast is critical. With his in-depth knowledge of both the Western and Eastern film industries and his extensive global network of both famous and yet-to-be-discovered stars, having Mike join us is fantastic."

Mike Leeder has been actively involved in both the Western and Asian film industries since 1990 when he first moved to Hong Kong. His many projects include Jet Li's FEARLESS and THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR, Jackie Chan's RUSH HOUR 3, Nicole Kidman's AUSTRALIA, and the recent anime-to-live-action-adaptation BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE with credits ranging from Casting Director, to Production Consultant, to Actor. Leeder is also Far Eastern Editor of the UK-based global action entertainment magazine Impact (http://www.ImpactMovieMagazine.co.uk).

Celebrated Movie Sound Designer Lends Ear to new US$10M 3D Sci-Fi Epic
09 Aug 2009 (PDF)

Hong Kong - 9th August 2009 - Hong Kong-based Agog Films Productions announced today that multi-award nominated sound designer, Martin Chappell has come on board the production team for the new US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be shot in Hong Kong during summer 2010 and released worldwide the following year. Being billed as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha feast", this is one movie that sci-fi fans everywhere should look out for when it hits 3D cinema screens around the world in 2011.

Founder of Hong Kong based post-production sound studio Fork Media (http://www.fork-media.com) Martin Chappell can be contacted at mrc@fork-media.com or (+852) 9778 7317. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong-based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.AgogFilms.com).

"Am I a sci-fi fan? Absolutely!" describes Chappell. "Ben Burtt's amazing work on the original Star Wars trilogy was an inspiration for many of us who have since become professionals in the field, myself included. The Hong Kong movie industry is great in the variety of films it produces, but traditionally sci-fi has mostly been a genre the industry here has steered away from. Now FUTURE FIGHTERS gives us the chance to create fantastic new soundscapes and sound designs in order to create an entirely new and original audible universe to immerse the viewer in… just like Burtt did over 30 years ago!" He adds "It remains to be seen whether we can incorporate the infamous Wilhelm scream though." before laughing.

Through working on many of Hong Kong's most popular and critically acclaimed films including Takeshi Kaneshiro's TURN LEFT, TURN RIGHT and Andy Lau's RUNNING ON KARMA, Martin Chappell has received multiple nominations for his work, including Taiwan's Golden Horse Award nomination for Best Sound Effects for Johnnie To’s PTU and two Hong Kong Film Award nominations for Best Sound Design for Nicholas Tse’s TIME AND TIDE and Tsui Hark’s ZU WARRIORS.

Celebrated Comic Artist signs on to bring 2D Creations to Life in New 3D Feature
23 Jul 2009 (PDF)

San Diego, USA - 23 July 2009 - Celebrated Italy-based, fan-favorite, professional Transformers comic artist Guido Guidi today announced at Comic-Con International his involvement as Production Designer for the new US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be shot in Hong Kong during summer 2010 and released worldwide the following year, by unveiling teaser posters for the movie based on several of his new, original mechanical designs. Being described by its producers as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha feast", this is one movie fans of Guido Guidi's work and comic book fans in general won't want to miss when it comes to a big screen near them in 2011.

Guido Guidi is a professional comic artist, illustrator and concept artist who can be contacted through his official website at http://guidoarts.artworkfolio.com. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS containing the teaser posters based on Guidi's designs is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong-based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.agogfilms.com).

Starting out as a fan-artist before turning professional, Guido Guidi's impressive and atypical blend of technical excellence and attention to detail combined with a natural dynamic and flair for rendering action-posed robotic characters was first brought to the attention of FUTURE FIGHTERS producer, Agog Films' Guy Orlebar, in 2003's illustration compendium "Genesis: The Art of Transformers". Upon being contacted directly by Orlebar earlier this year and offered the position of Production Designer, Guidi accepted the moment he read the script, finding it "amazing and engaging". Guidi continues: "Like [producer] Guy, I'm a big fan of the aesthetics from the good old Japanese anime mecha series of the '80s. FUTURE FIGHTERS gives us the chance to take those fantastic, sleek retro designs, which we all loved and grew up with, and really bring them alive… in fantastic 3D live-action."

Discovered initially by the-now-defunct Dreamwave Productions, Guidi's artwork regularly features in the pages of IDW Publishing's ongoing Transformer-related comics, as well as various Marvel Comics titles including "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four". His artwork has also appeared in numerous book illustrations, as well as for boxart for Hasbro Inc. FUTURE FIGHTERS represents Guidi's first movie project as Production Designer.

Acclaimed Composer to Bring Full Live Orchestra to New Sci-Fi Epic
16 Jul 2009 (PDF)

Hong Kong - 16 July 2009 - Multiple award-nominee, Hong Kong-based, film composer Robert Ellis-Geiger this week confirmed his involvement in the new, US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be shot in Hong Kong during summer 2010 and released worldwide the following year, with his intention of bringing a full, live orchestral score to the movie- something which the movie's producers believe is a first for Hong Kong cinema.

Founder of VisionSonics (http://www.VisionSonics.net), Robert Ellis-Geiger can be contacted at robert@visionsonics.net or (+852) 91864621. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong-based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.agogfilms.com).

FUTURE FIGHTERS producer Guy Orlebar discovered Ellis-Geiger at this year's Hong Kong Filmart in March. Orlebar explains "The way I find the best Hollywood masters work is they build up music models, or patterns, for the various characters and interactions. The key is finding something that works on an emotional level, and by bringing in Robert, with his unrivaled experience of film composing and orchestration, at this early stage we're able to spend the time to really work on these music patterns." Ellis-Geiger is also pleased to be involved at this pre-production preparation phase: "Typically most Hollywood or Chinese film projects bring the composer in at almost the very end of post-production. However, I am a strong proponent of what I dub "the Ellis-Geigner integrated approach" where the composer is brought in as early as possible. This approach also allows the music to influence the director and other creative elements of the film even before shooting begins, creating ultimately a more unified cinematic experience."

Twice nominated for Hong Kong Golden Bauhinia film awards for his work on the critically-acclaimed Johnnie To's "Election 2" and Patrick Tam's "After This Our Exile", Ellis-Geiger is also a keen activist for the eventual creation of a permanent Hong Kong Film Orchestra. Ellis-Geiger notes: "This is essential if Hong Kong is to successfully compete with the many other excellent film orchestras around the global." He adds: "FUTURE FIGHTERS is a perfect movie project for such an effort, with its epic, sweeping, story containing the full spectrum of human emotion including love, loss, passion, anger, intense action and more. For that full range of emotion, an orchestral score is ideal. And nothing beats conducting a live orchestra for delivering that emotion."

Kung Fu Legend Takes Fighting Spirit to the Stars in new US$10M 3D Sci-Fi Feature
18 Jun 2009 (PDF)

Hong Kong - 18th June 2009 - Hong Kong-based Agog Films Productions announced today that kung fu legend, KILL BILL actor Gordon Liu (劉家輝) has agreed to star in the new US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be shot in Hong Kong during summer 2010 and released worldwide the following year. Being billed as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha feast" and expected to feature literally-out-of-this-world, stylized-choreographic fighting sequences from some of the top names in the industry, this is one movie all action fans will not wish to miss when it hits 3D cinema screens around the world in 2011.

Gordon Liu can be contacted through Cine-Century Entertainment at cinecentury@hotmail.com or (+852) 2345 2983. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong‐based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.AgogFilms.com).

Producer Guy Orlebar exclaims "We are very honoured once again to welcome Master Liu to an Agog Films production, the first being our award-winning directorial debut LOST IN LOVE which will come out on DVD this autumn. On LOST IN LOVE, I was an unknown nobody without a track record, so it was a risk for Master Liu to support that project. But he kindly did, keen, I believe, to encourage new filmmakers in Hong Kong. So it is a real endorsement for me that he is willing to be in our next project too. We didn't get him kicking any butt in my first movie; but rest assured, we'll rectify that this time!"

First gaining prominence in Asia for his role as San Te in 1978’s THE 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN, Gordon Liu has since starred in over eighty films. Amongst non-kung fu fans in the West he is most well-known for his two roles in Quentin Tarantino’s KILL BILL double feature: kung fu teacher Pai Mei and yakuza general Johnny. FUTURE FIGHTERS represents Liu's second collaboration with Agog Films Productions and producer/director Guy Orlebar.

Old and New Production Houses Reunite for US$10M 3D Live-Action Sci-Fi Feature
26 Mar 2009 (PDF)

Hong Kong – 26 March 2009 – Today it was announced at Filmart that Ricky K. K. Wong, veteran of the Hong Kong film industry, and CEO of Hong Kong-based Cine-Century Entertainment, has signed on as Co-Producer for the new US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be shot in Hong Kong during summer 2010 and released worldwide the following year. Cine-Century Entertainment employee Cliff Chan also joins as Associate Producer as well as Co-Scriptwriter. Being billed as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha feast", this is one movie which both sci-fi and anime fans will particularly enjoy when it hits 3D cinema screens around the world in 2011.

Both Ricky Wong and Cliff Chan can be contacted through Cine-Century Entertainment at cinecentury@hotmail.com or (+852) 2345 2983. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com, and is being produced by Hong Kong-based company Agog Films Productions (http://www.AgogFilms.com).

This is Cine-Century Entertainment's second collaboration with movie producer Guy Orlebar and his production house Agog Films, the first being the award-winning indie drama LOST IN LOVE (http://www.LostInLoveMovie.com), which is coming out on DVD in Fall 2009. Ricky Wong recounts: "Ah-Guy first came to us back in early 2007. He had recently graduated from film school and was eagerly pitching his first movie idea. For the Hong Kong film industry to continue to grow and evolve in order to survive, I strongly believe that, like any creative industry, it's important to nurture new talent and welcome fresh blood and ideas from outside the industry. We gave Guy and his newly-formed company the opportunity to prove themselves with their first project, which they did. And now we're very excited about partnering with Agog Films again on something much bigger and bolder." Regarding Cliff Chan's involvement, Orlebar explains "In the same way that super hero movies have taken Hollywood by storm these past few years, what we’re attempting to do with FUTURE FIGHTERS is expand the giant-robot genre which is so mainstream and well-established in Japanese anime and manga, but which, until Spielberg's Transformers came along, was largely neglected by Hollywood. Both Cliff and I share an immense love of all things sci-fi and anime, so it's great to find someone with as much passion and enthusiasm for this project as myself. I’m confident Cliff's involvement will ensure we don't disappoint mecha fans everywhere with our final offering."

Originally called Cine-Century Company, Cine-Century Entertainment has been active in Hong Kong since 1989 and is best known for its innumerable fast-action kung fu and police/triad movies starring and helping to launch the careers of many distinguished actors including KILL BILL's Gordon Liu and SEVEN SWORDS's Michael Wong. Ricky Wong is also a committee member of Hong Kong's Movie Producers & Distributors Association, as well as examiner on the Fund Vetting Committee of the Hong Kong Film Development Council. Cliff Chan devotes his professional time between Hong Kong and America.

New Director Aims for the Stars with US$10M Fully 3D Live-Action Feature
25 Mar 2009 (PDF)

Hong Kong - 25 March 2009 - Hot on the heels of his award-winning directorial debut, Hong Kong-based British filmmaker Guy Orlebar has turned to the Earth's neighboring planets as the backdrop to his recently completed screenplay for his upcoming second feature, the US$10 million budget, fully 3D, live-action sci-fi epic FUTURE FIGHTERS to be filmed entirely on green-screen in Hong Kong during summer 2010. Described as "a relationship-charged, action-packed, mecha feast", all giant robot and Japanese anime fans should look out for this exciting new production coming to a big screen near them in 2011.

Guy Orlebar is founder and CEO of Hong Kong-based Agog Films Productions (http://www.agogfilms.com) and can be contacted on +852-9418-6674 or guyorlebar@agogfilms.com. The official movie website for FUTURE FIGHTERS is http://www.FutureFightersMovie.com.

A lifelong fan of both the science-fiction genre and Japanese mechanical ("mecha") animated shows, and inspired by past technological filmmaking pioneers such as George Lucas, Peter Jackson and James Cameron, movie director/producer Guy Orlebar, whose directorial debut LOST IN LOVE (http://www.LostInLoveMovie.com) won the Gold Kahuna Award for Excellence in Filmmaking at this year's Honolulu International Film Festival, is looking through FUTURE FIGHTERS to, in his words, "push the envelope technologically and bring together the amazing talents in Hong Kong and around the region to show never-before-seen cinematic thrills and excitement, and create the definitive mecha-based, live-action 'anime'."

Orlebar explains: "Hong Kong is full of all these great people, with amazing talents, be it acting, stunt work, special effects, music, you name it. When we watch a Hollywood blockbuster we are always blown away by the epic scale of the production. It's not the case that we need money to do that; we need talent and ideas. And Hong Kong, plus the whole Asia region, have these in abundance." Near-fluent in Japanese and with a love of other Asian languages, native English-speaker Orlebar intends to continue his trend of hiring actors from all around the globe. "The real world is a rainbow of languages and, where possible, I always strive for my movies to reflect this. FUTURE FIGHTERS is a movie for sci-fi fans around the world... There's so much out there, all these alien worlds which most of us aren't even aware of, right in our own back celestial yard, as it were, on which I think a lot of exciting stories can be told. Ultimately, I want to bring back the science to science-fiction movies. The challenge is only to do that without compromising on the action or the drama of the story. With this screenplay, I believe we've succeeded, and I can't wait to share it with everyone come 2011."
